As a big guy I used to find it really difficult to find smart, interesting clothes to fit me. Decades ago my joy was to discover Clacton and Frinton. Michael andI share a love for high quality natural fibers and he seems to be able to find material and patterns that nobody else can. Michael has also taught me the pleasures of bespoke tailoring, (at prices that are comparable to ready-made clothes). But there is something else, more rare, more to be treasured than the superb craftsmanship. Hilary and Michael love what they do for "a living", and that love is a delight to wear. Michael and Hilary have made many a new outfit for us to wear at our respective art openings around the world. Everywhere we go, we get compliments, especially Roy who favors the bright plaids for his custom made shirt jackets. We are very appreciative of the precise measurements that Michael takes when we order new clothes. He has discreetly witnessed (but never openly reacted to) our expanding waistlines over the years. Through his sleight of hand, he makes sure we keep a clean line and "pass as slim". We feel jaunty in Clacton & Frinton clothes, always age appropriate but with a slight touch of the dandy.
